Georgetown in the News: We’re Kind of a Big Deal
10 January 2009 | By Jenna Weiner in Georgetown In The NewsA news week like this reminds me why Georgetown is kind of a big deal.
First, remember that cool but seemingly impractical episode of Grey’s Anatomy where the hospital does six kidney transplants at once in a convoluted “domino surgery” procedure? Apparently, it can happen… kind of. And Georgetown rocked it.
Second, Robert J. Lieber, a professor of government and international affairs here at Georgetown, wrote an interesting article on the Gaza conflict in The Washington Post.
In other news, two more Hoyas have been tapped for the new Obama administration. Brian McKeon, a graduate of Georgetown University Law, has been appointed Deputy National Security Advisor to the Vice President, and Carlos E. Elizondo, an events director at Georgetown, will be the residence manager and social secretary for the Bidens.
Finally, in the D.C. Arts Examiner, a D.C. fashion photographer named the top five models of 2008. The list includes Stephanie Grant, a Georgetown junior.
Can you say Hoya Saxa?

“Stephanie Grant, a Georgetown junior.”
And a former Indy writer, no less. We make waves wherever we go.
