Indy Suggests: Without Fear, Dermot Kennedy

Alexis Gorfine

Dublin’s up-and-comer, Dermot Kennedy, has not ceased to impress us at The Independent. His powerful, raw vocals continue to evoke sheer amazement. His 2018 hit, “Power Over Me,” quickly became a fan favorite as it reached the top twenty on the charts in his native Ireland and across Europe. He’s attracted famous listeners, including Ellen DeGeneres, who had him as a musical guest on her show earlier this year. His newest single, “Outnumbered,” a track off his upcoming album Without Fear, achieved even more commercial success, reaching number two on the Irish charts and gaining attention in the United States. In the past year, Kennedy has performed at Electric Picnic, Coachella, and Glastonbury for huge crowds, a drastic leap from when The Indy reported on his concert in D.C. at the Black Cat, this time last year. Without Fear will be Kennedy’s first full album and is set to release on October 4. Find it wherever you stream your music!
